How it all started
I've always loved clothes that feel as good as they look. Growing up in Melbourne, I spent most weekends thrifting with my mum, picking apart why one piece worked and another didn't. That habit never really left me. Somewhere along the way, browsing for the perfect linen dress or a jumper that actually fits properly, I kept thinking there had to be an easier way to shop without settling for stiff fabrics or sizing that never quite matches the photos. So I decided to build the kind of store I'd want to shop from myself. Nothing fancy. Just honest pieces at a fair price, with a bit of care put into every order because that matters to me. That's really where Ruby Melbourne began, from wanting something simple to exist.

Every piece goes through a fair bit of scrutiny before it makes it onto the site. If I wouldn't wear it on a Saturday morning coffee run, it doesn't make the cut. That's the whole philosophy, really.
